Affiliate disclosure

Aircon Wars is an affiliate website. When you click a link to a retailer and go on to buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid going direct. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.

Which networks we use

We earn commission through two affiliate networks. Most of our retailer links run through Awin, which connects us to UK appliance retailers and supplies the product feeds we use for pricing and stock. A smaller number of links use the eBay Partner Networkfor items sold on eBay UK. When you follow one of these links, the network sets a cookie so the retailer can attribute the sale. We don’t set those cookies; the networks do, and we don’t receive your payment or order details.

Commission never affects what we show

This is the part that matters most. Commission rates differ between retailers, but they play no part in how we rank or sort products. Our default ordering puts genuinely in-stock units first and then sorts by price, the same logic for every retailer, regardless of what they pay us. We don’t accept payment for placement, and we don’t hide a cheaper in-stock option because a pricier one pays better.

How fresh the data is

Prices and stock levels are indicative. They come from retailer feeds and APIs that we refresh periodically, so there is always some lag between what a retailer changes and what we display. Stock quantities, particularly from eBay, are often estimates. Every product we list deep-links straight to the retailer’s own live page, which is always the definitive source for the current price and availability. Please check it before you buy. Why we spell this out

UK law (the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and the ASA/CAP advertising codes) requires affiliate relationships to be disclosed clearly and up front, not buried. The portable air-conditioner category is currently under scrutiny from the Competition and Markets Authority over stock and availability claims, so we hold ourselves to a high bar: a persistent disclosure on every page, “indicative” labelling on all pricing and stock, a visible last-updated time, and a deep link to the live retailer page on every listing.
